Purple Hair Wax Review

How many of us love doing crazy funny things to our hair? I know I am not the only one!! When it comes to the hair I've done it all... I've bleached it, cut it super short, PERMED it when it was still cool, and now I'm currently trying to grow it out to as long as I can stand it. My obsession with dying my hair red has always been something I've done for the past 15 years. It's my go-to color of choice, and I don't plan on changing it anytime soon... unless it's to go PINK!!!

So for days that I want to experiment with something I didn't know there were other products out there that existed for testing colors and be able to wash it off later. I found this hair wax floating around the internet for quite some time now, but I had the chance of trying it out until recently. I finally got my hands on a wax that I've seen a ton of reviews for online so I wanted to take a crack at it.

I ordered mine a while back and it arrived about 3 weeks later, as the product is from China so shipping does take a bit longer. Oddly enough this isn't an Amazon purchase, although it is available on Amazon. The website offers 6 different colors including; blue, green, red, purple, gold, and silver. I went with the gold because it's the one I saw on an Instagram video.

When I received it in the mail I immediately went to my hubby and asked him if I could try it out... So I went to town on his hair, and there begins the fun.

The product itself is very creamy but ultimately does dry down. It compares to a texturizing balm for men's hair and hardens up rather quickly, so you have to work pretty quickly. One thing I noticed is that it does like to cling to each other so parts of the hair were bunched up when applied leaving lots of random gaps but you can take a comb to it and even it out. My hands were covered and it worried me. But rest assured, it washed off with just water almost instantly, I was impressed!

I did a whole video of my demonstrating on my hair. I need to work with it more and post an update because it wasn't my favorite outcome. I want it to work a lot more than it did. SO I'm giving it a second chance soon.

Weight Loss Journey progression

Honestly, when I finally decided to take the plunge and try out some fitness and wellness products I never would have thought that I would be easily persuaded by pills. Can't have movie night without Popcorn!!

How do you like watching movies at home? Nice warm blanket, tall glass of wine perhaps. But I'm pretty sure there's something that no matter where you are you always have it present in either the basic flavor or played up with more goodness to experience a higher level of movie enjoyment. What's that you may ask... Popcorn!!!

Of course! You can never experience a proper movie night until you have the popcorn making it's sweet popping music then fresh from the microwave and ready to eat. I've always been a huge fan of the prepackaged popcorn and flavors from the grocery stores as a kid, and I continue to make my childhood favorites at home for my kids. But one thing I have noticed in my adulthood is that with every brand comes with its little hidden secret ingredients that you either know what they are or are unfamiliar with them entirely. So I discovered that many of the companies that produce those types of popcorn to make at home are loaded with extra preservatives that cause much more damages in the long run after consumption.

I went on the hunt for a solution... and I found something that was not only super functional but easy to store and easier to clean. Meet Thomas Rush Popcorn Maker, my new favorite kitchen invention that even my kids love using and testing themselves. So far we've enjoyed just about popcorn every weekend and the bottle of popcorn still has many more servings to be made!! This makes this frugal mama a very happy camper.

Now you're probably wondering what about the flavors. That in itself is a whole other story and would take longer to explain in greater detail. But I can tell you my absolute favorite flavor and how to make a simpler version than what the traditional way is made.

Seen in the photo you can see that it's a pretty decent size bowl, and honestly, it only takes a small amount kernels to fill this to the top once they pop. Rule of thumb, a little goes a long way.

My favorite popcorn has to be by far the kettle corn, salty and sweet in one amazingly addicting crunchy snack! But who has time to whip out the ol' copper kettle and create the traditional kettle corn, not me that's for sure? So I love using Kernel Season's Kettle Corn Popcorn Seasoning, as well as other addicting flavors.

I love the Orville Redenbacher's 100% White corn, and Popping & Topping Buttery Flavored Oil. Following the directions on the packaging can't be any easier than just reading the instructions carefully. It's seriously so easy my 5 year old can do it! My boys loved adding all the seasonings to their batch of popcorn, that literally takes no time at all to make. My husband loved the Parmesan Garlic, my oldest loved the Bacon Cheddar, and my little one loved the Cheesy Caramel! We all found our flavors and the popcorn was ready so fast it can't compete with movie theater popcorn with all those amazing tastes. 

Ingredients:

• 1/4 C of Kernels
• 2-3 tbs oil 
• 1-2 tsp salt, to taste

In the bowl add your kernels, oil, and salt, place the lid loosely on top, do not cover completely as it needs room to grow. Place in microwave for 3-4 minutes (based on 800w microwave). Once your popcorn slows popping down to 2 seconds apart you can stop the time and take popcorn out carefully using the handles. Add as much seasoning as you'd like, and enjoy your favorite form of entertainment!!!

Aromatherapy you can wear!

Aromatherapy is by far one of the greatest creations for natural health benefits. From soothing eucalyptus to calming lavender. There are over a thousand types of essential oils for all sorts of needs and ailments. But when it comes to oils I have no clue what type of oils are what, why lie about it! My favorite scents definitely have to be on the musky or sweet side of the scent spectrum. Pachouli and sandalwood are two of my absolute favorites. Of course, other ways I love oils are using is by burning incense sticks.

Something I've recently discovered is wearable jewelry that you can also diffuse essential oils in. So I took to Amazon to find something that was super stylish and served its purpose of helping with the aromatherapy. I came across an adorable rose gold wrap bracelet that has 8 interchangeable diffusing disks in 8 different colors to suit my mood. Of course, I chose to put in the pink color first, because, hello it's pink!

I fell in love with it immediately. Even though I don't currently have any oils to diffuse, but it looks like I will have to start purchasing some. A Dramatic Valentine's Look

Love is one of the most important feelings you can have and give in your life. But what does it truly mean... Oddly enough, we are all somehow fixated on the appearance one has rather than what we hold deep inside us all. Honestly, I feel like as the hopeless romantic that I am, valentine's comes at the perfect time of year.

Playing roles during this so-called holiday can either be extremely exciting for some and for others such a traumatic experience they want nothing to ever do with again. On the one hand, I love everything about being playful, and dramatic at times, it keeps things fresh! On another hand, it does take some time effort and a little luck. But, man is it fun to dress up.

Beauty is skin deep too.. How Vitamins are Important!

As we all get older we wonder why certain things we consume are no longer as effective as when we were kids. For me as I get closer to hitting the big 3 0... Yea no kidding! With age comes the responsibility to stay healthier and much more conscious about what I eat, and do on an everyday basis.  I've always looked into vitamins, but it worries me what I need to be taking and what isn't completely necessary at this time. It's always a great idea to consult your doctors for any medical and health-related advice, after all, that's what they're there for in the first place, use them!

Sadly, due to my last pregnancy with my youngest, who is now 5 years old, I was diagnosed with an osteoarthritis in my right hip. Joint degeneration is what the doctor told me, and if I wasn't careful and took certain vitamins I could end up needing hip replacement surgery by the time I was 45. Scary!! So he prescribed Tylenol for arthritis pain and I purchased over the counter Vitamin D3 to help prevent further damages.

I've been on a vitamin kick these past few weeks just to get myself started on the right path... But I must say it's been tough. First of all, I am by no means an expert, you should always talk to your doctors for recommendations on what you can and can't take.

Wifi Light Bulb Lights me up!!

Lights in the beauty world are essential when it comes to makeup application, and youtube video quality! So when I came across a light bulb I could power up with my phone, I was all in, and couldn't wait to get it home!!!

Currently being housed in what is by far my most favorite feature of my room, a plastic star lamp, I have officially been obsessed with playing around with its capabilities. I have it set up where it automatically turns itself on at 6:30am when it's time to wake up the kiddos for school, and I love that I can have it on when I arrive home after a long day and it's dark out. My boys thoroughly enjoy watching it change colors when we're having a mini dance party before bed.

Something I am super excited to do is once I get my room nicely set up again for youtube videos, this light will be the main source to obtain a better quality video!! Nothing is more crucial to the survival of a Youtube channel than poor lighting situations. I love my natural lights don't get me wrong, but being able to record at a later time when the sun has gone down for the day is a huge plus and opens up the possibilities for other types of videos to be shot at night.

Honestly, nothing makes this geeky tech girl giddier than new gadgets to play with. Lights and fun decor make me happier to be around knowing that my surroundings match my personality. I'm currently working on a small DIY project with 30ft fairy lights that are also remote controlled, and it's making me super anxious and excited at the time. So that's something to look forward to in the later days ahead.

Loving my light bulb when it wakes me up in such a way where it's natural!! My boys... Not so much! Lol! But oh well... Time to get up is time to get up!!

Have fun with Virtual Reality Glasses

When I was a kid I remember our ways of having fun meant we actually had to go outside and do something. Our generation was the last of us who actually interacted with each other face to face, before all of this technology, and artificial virtual realities. As much as I wish my kids could grow up in the same way I did, I would be doing them a disservice. Technology though complicated is actually a great thing for little ones to experience early. Now I'm not saying that you have to go out and buy the latest gadgets on the market, by no means is that what I am talking about. But exposing your kids to at least new technology while they are still young is the perfect bonding tools for not only them between their friends, but you as an adult and learning the latest things alongside your kids. Lord knows how many times I had to teach my mom something new whenever she got a new phone.

I can actually say teaching my mom how to text was the funniest thing in my life, next to explaining to my dad what a selfie was and how to take a good one. Now you look at them and I feel proud they were willing to learning those new things with us. Although, I must admit I sometimes regret teaching my mom how to text because of how long her messages can get, especially if she's mad about something. 

Now, I know there are still a lot of parents out there that have no clue what to do with their kids and technology, but honestly all I have to say is embrace it now and grow with them rather than having to feel like a total noob when something even newer and complicated arises and our learning capabilities are smaller. 

I finally recently caved and got my boys a VR Headset to play around with. I've been watching youtube videos pop up with virtual reality mode. So this intrigued me! My boys are already well versed when it comes to youtube and who are creating their favorite content. I had to do some research of my own, and have yet to really find "good" content for VR. With recent activity on the platform, it terrifies me to no end of what they could potentially end up watching, but there are many content creators that are creating really awesome videos for the easily impressionable.

When I gave my boys the surprise of the headset, their reactions were priceless, to say the least. So I decided to try and record a little clip of their experience with the VR. The results were hilarious, and such precious moments were shared. 

So my last thoughts for you and your families. Embrace new technology and experience them with your kids, because later on in life your kids will have either grown to have to learn and experience a lot of potentially harmful things before you could even try and correct the situation.

Getting Ready for Mani-Pedi Season

As the seasons start to change and the weather starts to get warmer, it calls for much more groomed hands and feet.
